SHIP IJmuiden

Client: Provincie Noord-Holland
Collaboration: Podium
Agency: IQ-Media

The largest sea lock in the world is being constructed at the entrance of the North Sea Canal at IJmuiden. It will provide safe and easy access to the Amsterdam port region. To inform citizens and interested people, the province of North-Holland has created a permanent interactive exhibition, showcasing the ongoing construction of the sea lock, as well as informing people about the latest developments of Europe’s 4th largest seaport.

For this project I directed and designed the look and feel of the graphic interfaces, the grandest of which is a large 5x2 meter live infographic of the North Sea Canal area. The screen displays the coming and going of ships, impressions of the wildlife and local culture, and together with mobile app you can gather real time information of any chose ship on screen. The reception also boasts a large screen, on which real time social media feeds are showcased.
